New South Wales has begun building the Good Earth Green Hydrogen and Ammonia project near Moree. The plant aims to produce 4,500 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia and 200 tonnes of green hydrogen annually to support local farming and reduce reliance on imported fossil fuel-based fertilizers. Backed by $45.2 million in government funding, the project focuses on decarbonizing agricultural supply chains. It targets a reduction of 17,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent by replacing diesel in irrigation and heavy machinery with cleaner alternatives.
