The Northern Lights joint venture has added a fourth dedicated CO2 carrier, the Northern Purpose, to its fleet. This expansion supports the project's goal of providing an open-access transport and storage network for industrial emitters across Europe. Currently operating with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year, the project is scaling up to handle over five million tonnes annually by the end of the decade. Recent operations include the injection of biogenic CO2 captured from wastewater treatment and emissions from cement production.
