Northern Lights Expands CO2 Shipping Fleet for Cross-Border Carbon Storage
maritime-executive.comNorway's Northern Lights project is expanding its liquefied CO2 shipping fleet through new agreements with MISC Group and K Line. The project aims to increase its transport and storage capacity to over 5 million tons per year by late 2028 to support industrial emitters across Northwest Europe. The expansion includes four new vessels with increased capacity of 12,000 cbm each. These ships will transport captured carbon from industrial sites in Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden for permanent storage in undersea reservoirs.
