8k pounds raised is decent for a local business event. The carbon offset part is a nice add on but the real impact is the charity donation. Offsetting 3 tonnes is basically a rounding error in the grand scheme.

Would be more interesting if they disclosed the actual emissions calculation. Did they include attendee travel? Catering? Venue energy? Three tonnes sounds low for 180 people plus speakers and travel.
