Nonghyup Bank has introduced its first transition loan to help companies move toward low-carbon operations. The initial funding supports a livestock distribution company in South Korea to install wastewater treatment facilities, reducing local environmental pollution. The bank is using the Korean Green Taxonomy (K-Taxonomy) to assess eligibility for these loans. This framework ensures that the financing supports genuine environmental improvements rather than superficial changes.
