NLC India and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create a joint venture for 700 MW Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor projects. This partnership aims to increase India's base-load clean energy capacity to support its Net Zero goals. The collaboration follows the SHANTI Bill of 2025, which updated nuclear energy regulations. It is part of a broader national strategy to reach 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047, combining NLC India's power generation experience with NPCIL's technical expertise in nuclear operations.
