NKT Achieves Zero-Carbon Operations at German Cable Accessories Factory
offshore-energy.bizNKT has transitioned its medium-voltage cable accessories plant in Nordenham, Germany, to zero-carbon operations for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The company achieved this by phasing out natural gas for heating and replacing fossil-fuel vehicles with electric alternatives. To maintain low-carbon production, the facility utilizes energy-efficiency upgrades like heat exchangers for injection moulding machines. The site is powered by renewable electricity sourced through a long-term power purchase agreement with a photovoltaic facility in Wilhelmshaven.
