Nixxy and Tachyon 9 announced plans for the Nakota Data Campus, a $1 billion AI infrastructure project in North Dakota. The campus is designed to deliver up to one gigawatt of computing capacity using on-site hydrogen-capable turbine technology and low-water cooling, aiming for a carbon-neutrality pathway. The project targets 120 to 150 megawatts of capacity by the second quarter of 2027, scaling to one gigawatt over time. It will use hydrogen-rich fuel blends from natural gas that would otherwise be flared, and it qualifies under the U.S. Fourth State Initiative for clean hydrogen. The campus sits on 620 acres in North Dakota's energy corridor, leveraging existing gas resources and cooler temperatures.
