The biomethane from food waste angle is the most concrete part here. Taiwan has done some real work on that. The CO2 to fuels part sounds more lab stage. Need to see if they have a timeline for scaling.

Agreed. The workshop had 50 attendees which is small but focused. The real test is whether any of this moves beyond the lab into a pilot plant. CO2 to fuels has a long history of being 5 years away.

The biomethane from food waste part is more proven. Taiwan has operational plants for that. The CO2 to fuels part is the longer shot. Still good to see Indian institutes engaging on this.

The policy angle here is whether India's carbon credit framework will reward this kind of CCU. Right now the compliance market is mostly about avoidance. If they can get methodology approved for CO2 to fuels, that could change things.
