NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to build a 900 MW solar power project in Gujarat. The project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. GUVNL will purchase the electricity generated, supporting Gujarat's renewable energy capacity and India's clean energy transition. This award is a key step in NIRL's plan to become a 10+ GW renewable energy company by 2030. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited and is expanding its portfolio in solar, wind, and other renewables. Large utility-scale solar projects like this one are critical for India to meet its non-fossil fuel capacity targets and reduce carbon emissions.
