Nippon Sanso has opened an automated dry ice production and recovery facility in Koping, Sweden. The plant can produce 2.2 tonnes of dry ice per hour and includes six CO2 recovery units that capture and reliquefy gas generated during production for reuse. This reduces waste and improves efficiency in the supply chain for pharmaceutical, food, airline, and industrial customers across the Nordic region. The facility uses Cold Jet technology and robotic systems for stacking, wrapping, and container filling. Dry ice is essential for temperature controlled logistics and industrial cleaning. By producing locally, Nippon Sanso aims to scale quickly and solve logistical challenges for customers. This investment supports decarbonization efforts by capturing and reusing CO2 that would otherwise be emitted.
