Nippon Sanso has deepened its investment in Italy-based engineering firm Hysytech, folding the company into its On-Site Advanced Systems platform. The deal aims to scale Hysytech's technologies in biofuels, liquefied biomethane, biogenic carbon dioxide, and hydrogen for industrial decarbonisation. Hysytech brings process know-how in gas recovery, cryogenics, and energy systems, while Nippon Sanso provides European industrial infrastructure to move these technologies from R&D to commercial deployment. The partnership builds on an initial investment from 2022. Nippon Sanso says the move supports its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 under its Carbon Neutral World initiative. For Hysytech, the deeper tie-up means access to more resources and global reach to turn pilot-stage process technologies into real products. The deal is a concrete example of how industrial gas companies are using equity stakes to lock in low-carbon technology supply chains.
