Allgreen Energy and Greenplinth Africa have signed a $10 billion deal to distribute 80 million clean cookstoves across Nigeria. The project aims to replace traditional firewood and charcoal cooking to reduce deforestation and indoor air pollution, with the first 24 million units scheduled for production starting in July. The initiative relies on a free-distribution model for households, supported by carbon financing. By converting emission reductions into tradable carbon credits, the project intends to sustain the manufacturing and distribution of clean cooking technology at a national scale.
