The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has distributed clean cookstoves and solar home systems to 2,000 households in Kano. This initiative aims to reduce the health risks associated with firewood smoke and lower carbon emissions through the Zero Carbon (ZeCo) Project. By replacing traditional biomass cooking with cleaner alternatives, the program targets improved respiratory health for women and children while supporting small-scale rural businesses with decentralized energy. The Nigerian government plans to expand these locally manufactured energy solutions nationwide to drive industrialization and environmental sustainability.
