Nigeria faces a significant gap in its climate data infrastructure, with sustainability disclosures often trapped in non-machine-readable PDFs. This fragmentation prevents the government and investors from verifying emissions reductions and tracking carbon budgets in real time. To attract the estimated $400 billion needed for its 2060 energy transition, Nigeria must integrate corporate reporting with national registries. Establishing a verifiable MRV system is critical for building investor trust in the national carbon market.
