EU Programme Manager Godfrey Ogbemudia emphasized the need to translate knowledge into concrete investment that helps Nigeria meet its energy targets. The Statistician-General also called for robust data collection to track energy inputs, infrastructure flows, and green jobs. Agreed. Blue hydrogen without strict methane leakage controls and CCS isn't really low carbon. The EU involvement is promising, they tend to push for real standards.

Worth watching how they plan to produce and transport this hydrogen. Nigeria's grid and gas infrastructure have reliability issues. Export to other African countries needs pipelines or shipping, both expensive.

Blue hydrogen can be a bridge but the real prize is green hydrogen from solar. Nigeria has great solar resources. Hope the policy leaves room for electrolysis projects too.
