The International Centre for Energy, Environment and Development (ICEED) is working to establish clean cooking as a national priority in Nigeria. The initiative focuses on attracting international investment and carbon finance to subsidize the distribution of fuel efficient stoves, aligning with the country's NDC commitments. Key to this strategy is the implementation of digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems. By moving away from manual surveys and toward verifiable, smartphone based data, stakeholders aim to reduce credit issuance bottlenecks and increase buyer confidence in the Nigerian carbon market.
