NGK earns CDP Supplier Engagement Leader rating for second year running on supply chain climate work
mynewsdesk.comNGK Corporation has been named a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader for the second year in a row. The rating is the highest available in CDP's Supplier Engagement Assessment, which evaluates how companies address climate change across their supply chains. NGK surveyed roughly 200 key suppliers on greenhouse gas emissions and reduction targets, and held briefings and individual talks to align on climate strategy. The company also earned an A List rating from CDP for water security for the second consecutive year. This recognition matters because Scope 3 emissions, which come from a company's supply chain and product use, often make up the largest share of a manufacturer's carbon footprint. By pushing suppliers to measure and reduce emissions, NGK is tackling the part of its value chain that is hardest to decarbonize. The company says it will keep working toward carbon neutrality using its ceramic technology base, which is also used in catalytic converters and energy storage products like the EnerCera battery series.
