Air source heat pumps and solar PV are standard now, but the real test is the building envelope. If they didn't nail the insulation and airtightness, those pumps will work overtime in a Cotswold winter.
Exactly. Also curious about the local transformer capacity. Adding 13 all electric homes to a semi rural lane can sometimes trigger a need for a grid upgrade if the existing infrastructure is old.
The claim of zero carbon usually refers to operational emissions. I wonder if they are accounting for the embodied carbon in the stone and brick, or if this is just a marketing label for being gas free.
Small scale project, but good to see more fossil fuel free builds hitting the market. The lack of gas is the main win here.
