The New South Wales government has launched a AU$225 million funding round under its Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative. The program targets the production of wind towers, solar modules, batteries, and low-carbon materials like blended cement and biofuels. To receive a grant, projects must match the government funding dollar-for-dollar with private investment. A key focus of the initiative is the Hunter Valley region, including the development of the Hunter Valley Solar Foundry. This 500MW facility by Sunman Group aims to become the largest solar module manufacturer in Australia, supporting the state's goal of a 70% emissions reduction by 2035.
