New High-Purity Polymerized Ionic Liquids Improve CO2 Capture Efficiency

This process allows for a more accurate measurement of carbon dioxide adsorption and reveals how changing anion sizes affects performance. The study found that using larger counter anions significantly increases CO2 adsorption capacity, with some materials performing seven times better than the raw starting material. This discovery provides a new design framework for creating more efficient gas separation membranes and carbon recovery systems.
