Severnside Carbon and Exolum have partnered to develop a large scale carbon capture and storage hub at Avonmouth Docks. The project aims to provide CO2 transport and storage for industries in southwest England, the Midlands, and South Wales, regions currently lacking access to government backed CCS clusters. Scheduled to begin operations as early as 2031, the terminal could handle up to 6 million metric tons of CO2 annually. This infrastructure will support energy intensive industries, data centers, and sustainable aviation fuel projects through flexible transport by rail and ship.
