Nestlé has partnered with UK regenerative agriculture company Wildfarmed to source regeneratively farmed wheat for its KitKat bars produced in York. The wheat is grown using practices that minimize soil disturbance, maintain year-round soil cover, and increase crop diversity. These methods aim to improve soil health, reduce carbon emissions, and boost biodiversity. Following successful trials, Nestlé will use the wheat for all 1.5 billion KitKat bars made annually at its York facility. The move supports Nestlé's goal to source 50% of its key ingredients from regenerative agriculture by 2030 as part of its net zero climate target. The partnership gives Wildfarmed a large scale commercial outlet to expand regenerative farming among British wheat growers.
