NBS and BDP partnership improves generic carbon data for construction with 1,300 pre-calculated assemblies
premierconstructionnews.comNBS and BDP have announced a long-term partnership to improve generic carbon data in construction. BDP developed over 1,300 pre-calculated generic assemblies for NBS's new life-cycle carbon assessment platform, NBS LCA. These assemblies cover common building fabric elements like walls, floors, and roofs, as well as concrete and steel structural elements, providing UK-relevant carbon benchmarks from the earliest design stages. The platform removes the need for designers to manually calculate carbon at the concept stage, saving time and enabling early carbon evaluation when decisions have the most impact. It integrates data from Circular Ecology's ICE Database and over 12,500 verified construction products with Environmental Product Declarations. The partnership aims to improve the quality and accessibility of carbon data for UK construction professionals, aligning with government carbon reporting commitments.
