Naver has signed an MOU with Singapore-based Gurin Energy to secure renewable power for its data centers in South Korea. The deal covers a 216MW solar project in Jindo, with Naver planning both a long-term power purchase agreement and an equity investment. The electricity will support Naver's AI and cloud infrastructure in Sejong and Chuncheon, as the company works toward its 2040 carbon negative goal. The Jindo Green Solar project already holds an electricity business license for 216MW. Gurin Energy will handle development and operations. This is Naver's second renewable energy investment after its April deal with a GS wind plant, making it the first RE100 company in Korea to invest directly in a renewable generator. The partnership aims to diversify Naver's procurement and support Korea's energy transition.
