NatureWorks has launched a new integrated Ingeo PLA biopolymer facility in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand. The plant has an annual capacity of 75,000 metric tons and uses locally sourced sugarcane to produce lactic acid, lactide, and polymers in one location. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for sustainable alternatives in packaging, 3D printing, and fibers. The facility is designed to support a carbon-neutral or net-negative profile at the polymer level based on life cycle assessment data.
