NatureWorks Opens New PLA Biopolymer Plant in Thailand
chemengonline.comNatureWorks has launched a fully integrated biopolymer facility in Nakhon Sawan, Thailand. The plant produces Ingeo polylactic acid (PLA) using locally sourced sugarcane, combining lactic acid and polymer manufacturing in one site to reduce supply chain emissions. With an annual capacity of 75,000 metric tons, the facility aims for a carbon-neutral to net-negative profile. This expansion increases the global availability of bio-based plastics for use in packaging, fibers, and consumer goods.
