The National Bank of Kuwait reported a 37.35 percent reduction in operational emissions for Scopes 1 and 2, beating its interim target of 25 percent. The bank achieved this through solar panel installations at 18 branches, LED lighting upgrades, and new building energy management systems. Beyond operational cuts, the bank grew its sustainable asset portfolio to 6.11 billion dollars. This includes a mix of green loans, sustainability-linked loans, and the issuance of a 500 million dollar green bond to fund eligible environmental assets.
