Nantou County is developing a 1.7km circular cable car system at the Zhushan Sky Ladder to promote low-carbon tourism. The project, estimated to cost NT$1 billion, will connect four key sites including a bamboo forest and a waterfall, with operations expected to begin by 2031. The infrastructure plan includes land acquisition from 17 owners and the development of supporting facilities like a campground and treetop walkway. To maintain an eco-friendly profile, the county will conduct ecological surveys despite the project falling below the threshold for a formal environmental impact assessment.
