fuelcellsworks.comNixxy and Tachyon 9 announced the Nakota Data Campus, a $1 billion AI infrastructure project in North Dakota designed around firm on-site power, hydrogen-capable turbines, and closed loop liquid cooling. The campus aims to deliver up to one gigawatt of AI computing capacity with a carbon neutrality pathway and reduced water consumption. The project uses hydrogen rich fuel blends from natural gas that would otherwise be flared, and targets 120 to 150 megawatts of computing capacity by Q2 2027. It also qualifies under the U.S. Fourth State Initiative for clean hydrogen under Section 45V. This is a concrete example of pairing AI growth with lower carbon operations and grid independence.
