Nagpur Metro has launched a pilot project installing a 50 kWp solar photovoltaic system between operational tracks at the Hingna depot. The installation uses monocrystalline half-cut technology to withstand train vibrations and maximize efficiency in limited urban spaces. Developed through a public-private partnership, the project requires no upfront capital from the metro authority. It is expected to generate 70,000 units of electricity annually and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 65 tonnes per year.
