MYOB launched a sustainability program called Think Purple, Act Green that bundles its climate targets, certifications, and employee initiatives in Australia and New Zealand. The company has offset all Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions since 2019 and holds Climate Active certification for its organization and services. It reported a 22% drop in emissions intensity between 2023 and 2024. The program sets Scope 3 reduction targets of 30% by 2030 and 60% by 2035, with a net zero goal for 2050. MYOB plans to align with the Science Based Targets initiative by 2027. The framework covers four areas: climate certified digital services for customers, workplace energy and waste reduction, employee and community engagement, and improved measurement and disclosure. For small and medium businesses using MYOB software, the program matters because supplier emissions often sit in their Scope 3 accounts. As Australia introduces mandatory climate reporting, businesses face more data requests from lenders and larger clients. MYOB sees sustainability as a factor in customer retention and procurement decisions, not just an operational issue.
