Mykor has secured £4 million in funding to scale its mycelium biofabrication platform, which turns agricultural waste into low-carbon construction products. The company focuses on reducing embodied carbon in the built environment by replacing synthetic insulation and partition walls with biological alternatives. Their MykoSIP partition system reduces carbon emissions by approximately 23kgCO2e per square meter compared to traditional systems. With £338 million in offtake agreements, Mykor is positioning itself to meet the upcoming UK Future Homes Standard and EU energy directives.
