UK biotech company Mykor has secured £4 million in funding to expand its biofabrication technology. The company converts agricultural and industrial waste into low-carbon building materials, offering a sustainable alternative to carbon-intensive insulation and construction products. Their primary product, MykoSIP, is a prefabricated partition wall system designed to reduce embodied carbon. By integrating biomaterials into existing industrial production lines, Mykor aims to make decarbonized construction commercially viable for large-scale contractors in the UK and Europe.
