Bristol based biotech firm Mykor has secured £4 million in funding to scale its industrial biofabrication technology. The company converts agricultural and industrial waste into low carbon construction products, including prefab walls and insulation, using engineered mycelium strains. Backed by the Clean Growth Fund and Innovate UK, Mykor aims to reduce embodied carbon in the building sector. The company focuses on creating materials that remain cost competitive with traditional construction supplies while integrating into existing global supply chains.
