The MUSICO instrument, developed by HKUST, has arrived at the Tiangong Space Station to monitor carbon dioxide and methane emissions. This lightweight sensor provides high resolution data to identify specific point sources of greenhouse gases, such as power plants and landfills, from space. By utilizing multi spectral imaging, the detector tracks gas concentrations across low and mid latitude regions. This data aims to provide verifiable evidence for emissions reporting and support national and global carbon neutrality goals.
