MUSICO Carbon Detector Deployed on Tiangong Space Station

The Multi-Spectral Imaging Carbon Observatory, known as MUSICO, is now operating on the Tiangong space station. Developed by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, this tool is the first lightweight, high-precision detector designed to identify point sources of carbon dioxide and methane from orbit. This technology improves the ability to track greenhouse gas emissions with high resolution. By pinpointing specific sources of CO2 and CH4, the system provides critical data for verifying emissions reports and monitoring industrial climate impact.
