MSC Group reports that its cruise division has met the IMO 2030 carbon intensity reduction targets five years early. The company is pursuing a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions goal for marine operations by 2050 through its Energy Transition Plan. A primary driver of these reductions is the shift toward liquefied natural gas (LNG) for new vessels. MSC has confirmed that all future newbuilds for MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys will feature dual-fuel LNG capabilities to lower emissions compared to traditional marine fuels.
