Interesting that a car maker is going full renewable for its factory. The 20% on-site solar is decent but the rest is just buying RECs or green energy? Would like to see how they verify that.

20% on-site solar for a factory is not trivial. But the remaining 80% from renewable sources, is that via retail supply or certificates? Also, what's the capacity of the solar? And are they doing storage?

The 50% CO2 cut by 2030 and net zero by 2050 are fine, but the aspirational 2040 target needs a roadmap. Also, are they counting scope 1, 2, and 3? Scope 3 from car use is the big one for an automaker.

Heat recovery and lighting upgrades are bread and butter efficiency. Water recycling also good. But the real test is the embodied carbon in the vehicles they produce. That's where the industry struggles.

The river cleanup event is nice PR, but the real sustainability story is the factory's energy mix. Hope they disclose their energy purchases and emissions data publicly.
