MISC expands carbon capture and storage logistics with new charter deal for liquid CO2 carrier
klsescreener.comMISC Bhd has signed a second long term charter contract with Northern Lights JV DA to operate a specialised liquid carbon dioxide carrier (LCO2C). The deal supports MISC's shift from fossil fuel transport to green energy logistics, positioning the company as an early mover in the emerging carbon capture and storage market. MBSB Research estimates annual revenue from one LCO2C at roughly RM35 million to RM50 million once operational. However, the financial impact is modest relative to MISC's existing RM12.3 billion order book, with core earnings upside of less than 1.5 percent. The contract signals growing infrastructure for CCS logistics, though near term earnings contribution remains small.
