Milton Keynes City Council is funding 1,000 free TrackZero carbon reporting licences for local businesses through its Green Business Fund. The 12-month programme, called Milton Keynes Carbon Ready, gives firms access to software for measuring and reporting carbon emissions. Registration is open now and licences are issued first come, first served. The push comes as UK government contracts and NHS suppliers from April 2027 require carbon reduction plans. Many small and medium businesses are being asked for carbon data they have never had to produce, and lack of credible reporting can cost them tenders. TrackZero says the programme is fully funded, with no cost to participants. A first webinar is scheduled for September 30. For local firms selling into large companies or the public sector, this is a low cost way to get started on emissions reporting. More details and registration are at trackzero.eco/mk-carbon-ready.
