Microsoft has committed to purchasing 650,000 carbon removal units from BioCirc over seven years. The deal focuses on a bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) project in Denmark, capturing biogenic CO2 from biogas plants and storing it under the North Sea. This agreement signals Microsoft's continued investment in durable carbon removal despite previous reports of a procurement slowdown. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2026, with an annual target of 100,000 metric tons of CO2 removed.
