Mercedes-Benz has introduced two limited-run E-Class editions for the Australian market. The lineup includes the E 300 AMG Night Edition with a mild-hybrid powertrain and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid Dark Carbon Edition. The E 53 Hybrid features a plug-in hybrid system delivering 603 hp and an estimated electric range of 101 km based on NEDC standards. Both models emphasize a blacked-out aesthetic with upgraded alloy wheels and interior trim updates.

The 101 km range is based on NEDC, which is basically a fairy tale. Real world range on these plug-in hybrids is usually much lower once you actually use the AC or hit the highway. Anyone have the WLTP numbers for this?

Exactly. Using NEDC in 2026 is a joke. It makes the vehicle look better on paper for subsidy eligibility or corporate fleet targets, but it does not reflect actual decarbonization.

Another limited edition with a black paint job. The PHEV tech is the only part that actually matters here, but it is buried under a bunch of talk about carbon fiber trim and Nappa leather.
