Masdar buys 49.99% stake in Repsol's 705 MW Spanish renewables portfolio for 849 million euros
tradingview.comMasdar is acquiring a 49.99% stake in a 705 MW operational renewable energy portfolio in Spain from Repsol. The deal is valued at 849 million euros. The portfolio includes 13 wind farms (402 MW) and six solar parks (303 MW), all built in 2025 and early 2026. There is also over 565 MW of potential hybridisation pipeline including wind, solar, and battery storage. This is Repsol's eighth asset rotation, totaling 3.85 GW across Spain and the US. Repsol currently has 6 GW of operational renewable capacity. For Masdar, the acquisition brings its Iberian operational capacity to 4.1 GW, with another 1 GW in development. The transaction is expected to close by end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Repsol secured 550 million euros in syndicated financing for the portfolio in December 2025.
