Maruti Suzuki commissions 300 kW green hydrogen plant at Manesar for low-carbon manufacturing
punjabnewsexpress.comMaruti Suzuki India has commissioned a 300 kW green hydrogen electrolyzer plant at its Manesar facility in Haryana. The pilot uses solar power to produce hydrogen, which will be blended with natural gas as process fuel in manufacturing. This is part of the company's effort to cut carbon emissions from its operations and aligns with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. The company says the plant will also help use excess solar generation on holidays and serve as a learning platform for wider hydrogen deployment. Maruti Suzuki targets reducing manufacturing emissions from 615,000 tonnes to 266,000 tonnes by FY31 through a mix of clean energy technologies including solar, biogas, and battery storage. The move reflects growing corporate interest in low-carbon production as India positions itself as a manufacturing hub.
