Maruti Suzuki Commissions 300 kW Green Hydrogen Plant at Manesar to Cut Manufacturing Emissions
constructionworld.inMaruti Suzuki has commissioned a 300 kW green hydrogen electrolyser at its Manesar plant in Haryana, its first such pilot. The system uses surplus solar power generated during holidays to produce hydrogen, which is stored and blended with natural gas for process fuel in manufacturing. This is part of a broader clean energy push covering solar, biogas, and battery storage. The company targets cutting manufacturing carbon emissions from 615,000 tonnes to 266,000 tonnes by FY2030-31. It is also building a 10 tonne per day biogas plant and has approved four compressed biogas projects. The hydrogen pilot will test storage and blending, with potential expansion to other facilities in Haryana and Gujarat depending on results.
