Mantel and Wood Partner to Scale High-Temperature Carbon Capture for Heavy Industry

Mantel Capture and Wood plc have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to integrate molten-borate carbon capture technology into industrial fired equipment. The partnership focuses on reducing emissions from boilers, gas turbines, and steam generators in hard-to-abate sectors. A primary project is currently underway at a steam-assisted gravity drainage facility in Western Canada. This deployment aims to capture 60,000 tonnes of CO2 annually by capturing emissions directly from the heat source, avoiding the costly cooling and reheating cycles required by traditional carbon capture systems.
