Mammoet has secured a contract from Saipem to handle the heavy lift requirements for the BECCS Stockholm project. The project involves installing massive components, including a stripper and absorber weighing 1,500 tonnes each, using a 3,200-tonne class ring crane. Developed by Stockholm Exergi, the facility aims to capture and store 800,000 tonnes of CO2 annually from biogenic flue gases. The plant is expected to be operational by 2028, marking a significant step in Europe's carbon removal infrastructure.
