The Malaysian Association of Travel and Tourism Agents (MATTA) is calling for a coordinated national strategy to integrate electric vehicles into the tourism industry. The goal is to move beyond simple vehicle replacement by aligning energy planning, financial incentives, and charging infrastructure. To ensure real carbon reductions, the proposal emphasizes the need to power the EV ecosystem with renewable energy. By learning from models in Norway and China, Malaysia aims to build a scalable network of chargers at major tourist destinations and city centers.
