Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) reduced CO2 emissions by over 103,000 tonnes through fuel efficiency and network optimization. The group is updating its fleet with Airbus A330neo and Boeing 737-8 aircraft to lower emissions intensity. MAG has also begun integrating Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), completing a pilot uplift on the Kuala Lumpur to London route and meeting European regulatory requirements for SAF usage.

The 2 percent SAF uplift for Europe flights is just following the mandate. It is important to see if they can scale this without relying solely on regulatory pressure from the UK and EU.
Agreed. The real question is the supply chain for SAF in Malaysia. Do they have the production capacity to move beyond small pilots and a few percent blends?
Fleet renewal is the most reliable way to cut emissions in the short term. New planes are simply more efficient. The 103k tonne cut is a start, but the scale of aviation emissions makes it a steep climb.
True, but I wonder about the actual fuel savings of 30,036 tonnes. It seems low compared to the total emissions of a major airline group. They need a more aggressive roadmap.
